A Milestone of 20 Years!

Yes, this month I celebrate 20 years in business for myself. When my youngest daughter was about a year old, I realized I wanted to work again while being able to care for my daughter from home. At the time my husband was taking some courses in real estate in California and had a colleague who needed someone to assist her with some admin work remotely. We connected and I began working with Marcy. It was great to be able to work a few hours each week from home so I was available to care for my young daughter. At the time no one in our area had even heard of a virtual assistant. So that’s when my new career as a solopreneur began – May 2005.

Over the past 20 years my business has undergone changes in both name and focus. I started out as a virtual assistant doing all kinds of admin work, from research and data entry to bookkeeping and social media marketing and so much more. The business name started out as Awesome Assistant, changed to Chief Virtual Officer (which is how I still often refer to myself), and currently it is Ausoma for Authors Social Marketing. Currently my primary focus is helping nonfiction authors with social media marketing.

I had to take a bit of a break in 2006 when I fell very ill. Then in 2020 when COVID hit and my husband’s health took a hit and I became his caregiver, my business slowed down. I have fewer clients which allows me to spend more time caring for household matters.

However, I am always looking for new opportunities to help anyone with any type of social media marketing. One of my favorite things to do is to provide my Peace of Mind Social Media Audit and Consultation. Learn more about it at my website: https://ausoma.com/audit-consultation/

Anyone can ask me anything in my FREE 15-minute consultation. Book a time to chat here: https://ausoma.com/free-15-minute-social-media-consultation/

My husband is adapting to his new situation since he was diagnosed with long covid last year. One thing he still enjoys doing is creating websites and he recently finished one for a curator of art. Learn more at his website: https://www.spinhead.com/

Thank you to everyone who has been supportive throughout my 20 years in business and for the word-of-mouth referrals I receive.
